When can I submit my online application?

Application period for non EU citizens

  • Winter Semester:    1 March to 15 May
  • Summer Semester: 1 September to 15 November
Which documents do I need to submit during my online application?

  • Curriculum vitae
    you can download and fill out this template
  • Language certificate ENGLISH level B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages)

  • Numerics skills in an amount of at least 16 credit points
    please upload here a module description of the course that provides information about your numerics skills. Applicants who can not provide these skills will be enrolled upon successful admission on the condition that they submit the evidence at least by the end of the second semester
  • Passport
    please provide an electronic copy of your valid passport. If you do not have a German identification card, you may submit a copy of your temporary identification or your international passport.
  • Secondary school leaving certificate including subjects and grades (e.g. Abitur, High School Diploma, A-Levels, or equivalent)
    original language + certified translation in German or English*
  • Transcript of records BACHELOR (or for comparable degree) including subjects and grades - at least 150 ECTS points with a final grade corresponding to "1,9" or better on the German grading system (Grade conversion using the Bavarian Formula)
    original language + certified translation in German or English*
  • Grading Scale BACHELOR with maximum grade and minimum final grade required to be awarded the degree – not for passing individual courses (must be issued by your university)
    original language + certified translation in German or English*
  • Written presentation of course-specific competences
    motivation letter - required is a cover letter in English, in which the reasons for the application are briefly explained

*Certified translation in German or English: only required if the document was not issued in German or English

If available or applicable, please also submit the following documents:
  • Degree certificate BACHELOR
    you may be enrolled on condition that you submit the certificate by the end of the second semester
    original language + certified translation in German or English*
  • Evidence of special qualifications or additional professional qualifications
    e.g. vocational training, internships, stays abroad, recommendation letter
  • Request for disadvantage compensation
    If you are unable to take an aptitude test in whole or in part in the intended form due to a prolonged or permanent disability, an application for disadvantage compensation can be made. Proof of the examination disability must be provided in the form of a medical certificate, which can be uploaded here.
  • Vorprüfungsdokumentation (VPD) uni-assist for an application for Universität Bayreuth
    Preliminary review documentation
    In case you have requested a VPD via uni-assist for an application for the University of Bayreuth, please upload the VPD in the online application in CAMPUSonline.
    Please request your VPD via the uni-assist web portal as early as possible - but at the latest 6-8 weeks before the respective application deadline at the University of Bayreuth.
    Please enter your 7-digit uni-assist applicant number in the text field when applying in CAMPUSonline.

  • Admission from the University of Bayreuth for this course of study from a previous semester (and possibly a letter of requirements)
    only to be uploaded by applicants who already got an admission letter from the UBT for the respective master's programme in a previous semester, but did not manage to start their studies
