The University of Missouri offers a masters studies program for students who will finish their bachelors degree until Juli 2026. The German Studies program at the University of Missouri offers students the possibility to teach German as a Foreign Language alongside their own studies and thus finance their master studies!

Program overview:

Students in this program:

• participate in our interdisciplinary German Studies M.A. program and teach German for beginners at the university. (As university employees, they pay no tuition and earn a salary.)
  
• are part of a cohort that takes seminars together and, with the support and supervision of our staff, develops lesson plans for their German classes.
  
• can choose to stay with us for either a one-year or a two-year stay. Those who stay for two years have the opportunity to earn their M.A. degree in German Studies.
  
• include not only German native speakers but come – and are warmly welcomed! – from around the world.
  
• have B.A. degrees in German Studies, or in other fields with interdisciplinary connections to German Studies: English/comparative literature, history, political science, etc. We also welcome students who are currently studying to become teachers (In these cases, only the intermediate examination [Zwischenprüfung] plus one additional year of study is necessary).
