Dreaming of studying in Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea, the United States, or at one of our many partner universities across Europe?

Applications are now open for exchange semesters in the 2027/28 academic year. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to spend one or two semesters at a partner institution of the University of Bayreuth, broaden your academic horizons, and gain valuable international experience.

Application Period

15 October 2026, 09:00 to 1 December 2026, 23:59 (CET)

⚠️ Applications can only be submitted during this period. Late applications cannot be accepted.

How to Apply

1. Explore the available exchange opportunities in our interactive partner university database.
2. Check the eligibility requirements and academic prerequisites on both our website and the website of your preferred host university.
3. Prepare all required application documents.
4. Submit your application through the appropriate online application portal before the deadline.

Language Requirements

Language proficiency must be demonstrated for every exchange programme, at least in the language of instruction at the host institution.

The University of Bayreuth offers the DAAD Language Certificate, a free and widely accepted way to demonstrate the language skills required for exchange applications. Many partner universities recognise the DAAD certificate and accept it as an alternative to more expensive language tests.

Further information about the DAAD Language Certificate and registration procedures can be found on the website of the Language Centre.
