University of Strasbourg Summer School 2025

01.01.25

The International Office of the University of Strasbourg is organizing its second edition of the Summer School ‘The European Identity: Past, Present and Future’, which will take place from June 16th to 27th, 2025.

During these two weeks, the students will attend high-quality interdisciplinary courses exploring various aspects of European culture, politics, law, history, as well as society, taught by renowned professors and researchers with international experience. This broad scope of topics will provide an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of European integration, governance, and global challenges. Academic courses will go hand in hand with meetings and discussions with representatives of European institutions, as well as guided tours, in order to discover the unique cultural heritage of Strasbourg’s region, located at the very heart of Europe.

The European Summer School at the University of Strasbourg attracts students from all over the world and the lectures involve dynamic debates, therefore offering a platform to share ideas and engage with different perspectives. By attending this program, students will build up academic knowledge, be immersed in an international environment allowing them to appreciate a diversity of cultures, expand their network, and above all, gain unique enriching personal experience.

Strasbourg is considered a ‘Capital of Europe’ because it hosts key European institutions, including the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, and the European Court of Human Rights. During the Summer School, students will have the chance to visit these institutions, engage with experts, and get a first-hand insight into the workings of European institutions.

Furthermore, Strasbourg is a vibrant, culturally rich city, offering a mix of French and German influences due to its history, which is noticeable through the city’s architecture, traditional museums and local cuisine. And, last but not least, its central location allows students to take a train and easily travel to other European cities like Paris, Brussels, Berlin, or Geneva.
