The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology offers two programs in the summer: the HKUST Summer School, for all students interested in a short term study experience at the HKUST, split in two sessions with students being free to choose either one or both; and the HKUST Summer UG Research Program, an 8 week research program, offering several projects and mentorship for students interested to applying learned theoretical knowledge in a more hands-on research project.

HKUST Summer School:

Program Period:

• June 16 – July 12, 2025                   
  • (arrival June 12, Session 1)
• July 14 – August 9, 2025
  • (arrival July 10, Session 2)

Application Deadlines:

• Feb 15, 2025 exchange partner nomination
• Feb 28, 2025 student application – early round
• Mar 10, 2025  student application – main round

Fees:

• Program fee (housing, visa, insurance):
• HKD 7,000 (approx. 800€) one session/4 weeks
• HKD 12,500 (approx. 1,440€) both sessions 7 8 weeks

Tuition (waived for nominated exchange students):

• HKD 5,700 (approx. 660€) per credit
• HKD 17,100 (approx. 1,970€) per 3 credit course

Program Period:

• June 16 – August 8, 2025 (8 weeks)
• Arrival: June 12, 2025
• End-of-program Event: August 7, 2025

• Feb 15, 2025 Student application deadline

Fees:

• HKD 12,500 (approx. 1,440€) Program Fee (housing, visa, insurance)
• HKD 17,200 (approx. 1,970€) Tuition (waived for nominated exchange students)
