What academic qualifications do I need for this degree programme?
You need a bachelor's degree with a minimum examination grade of ‘good’ (2.5 - converted German overall grade) in one of the following bachelor's degree programmes from the University of Bayreuth: Sport, Business and Law, Engineering Science, Business Administration and Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering or an equivalent degree, Professional education with an emphasis on metal technology, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or an equivalent degree, Teacher training-related Bachelor's degree programme with a major in sport or an equivalent degree or alternatively, a bachelor's degree programme in Sports Science at a German or foreign university or an equivalent degree. If the grade requirement is not met, an aptitude procedure is carried out (see Examination Regulations Appendix 2). This involves upgrading the final grade of the relevant first degree by 0.5 for the subsequent assessment criterion: Proof of competences acquired at a university in experimental physics (fundamentals and broadening of the fundamentals of classical physics, such as mechanics, dynamics, wave processes, conservation laws and structure of matter) amounting to at least 8 ECTS. If this results in a converted German grade of 2.5 or better, admission to the Master's degree programme in Sports Technology will be granted.

Professional education with an emphasis on metal technology, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or an equivalent degree,

Teacher training-related Bachelor's degree programme with a major in sport or an equivalent degree or alternatively,

a bachelor's degree programme in Sports Science at a German or foreign university or an equivalent degree.
