Studying Abroad
Studying abroad not only brings many new challenges, it also offers a unique opportunity to get to know new countries and cultures and to further your professional development. Very early on in the planning phase for a study abroad program, you will need to make some fundamental decisions:
- Choice of destination country: Europe or overseas
- Type of exchange: stay at a UBT partner university or self-organized freemover* stay
- Choice of exchange period
The University of Bayreuth has numerous exchange agreements with foreign universities, most of which also include a tuition waiver.
UBT students have access to the following exchange programs:
- UBTeurope: partner universities within Europe
- UBTworldwide: partner universities outside of Europe
*Freemovers are students who do not wish to go abroad through a UBT cooperation program, but on their own initiative. Further information on freemover stays can be found here.
